5 Reasons to Saddle Hunt This Fall

<

Fall’s coming, and if you’re itching to get out in the woods, saddle hunting might just be your new go-to. It’s a lightweight, mobile way to hunt that’s been catching on big time. Whether you’re chasing whitetail or just love being out there, here’s why you should give saddle hunting a shot this season.

You Can Move Like a Ghost

Saddle hunting lets you slip into spots other hunters can’t touch. With a tree saddle, you’re not stuck lugging around a clunky treestand. Just clip in, climb, and you’re set. I remember last fall, I was deep in a swampy bottom where deer love to bed. No way I could’ve hauled a stand in there, but with my saddle, I was up a tree in no time, watching a big buck stroll by. It’s sneaky, quiet, and gets you where the action is. Shop now!

It’s Lighter Than Your Beer Cooler

Carrying a heavy treestand through the woods is a pain in the butt. Saddle gear? It’s light as a feather—usually under 10 pounds total. That means less sweat and more energy for the hunt. You can hike deeper into public land or hit those hard-to-reach spots without feeling like you ran a marathon. Plus, it all packs down small, so you’re not wrestling with gear in the truck. You Get a 360-Degree Shot

Unlike a treestand where you’re locked into one direction, a saddle lets you swing around the tree for a full 360-degree view. You can take a shot from any angle without spooking your game. This is a game-changer when deer sneak up from your blind side. I’ve had bucks come in from the weirdest angles, and being able to shift quietly in the saddle saved my hunt more than once. Shop now!

It’s Safer Than You Think

Some folks worry about hanging from a rope, but saddle hunting is crazy safe when done right. You’re tethered to the tree the whole time—no sketchy climbs or wobbly platforms. Just use a good lineman’s belt and tether, and you’re solid. Last season, I slipped on a wet branch climbing up, but the saddle system caught me like a champ. No harm, no foul, just back to hunting. It’s Just Plain Fun

There’s something badass about hanging in a tree, feeling like a sniper waiting for the perfect shot. Saddle hunting mixes adventure with strategy—you’re picking your tree, setting up quick, and blending into the woods. It’s a rush, plain and simple. Plus, you can brag to your buddies about hunting like a pro without needing a ton of fancy gear. It’s just you, the tree, and the deer. Shop now!
